Month 3!

It's a bit past the 3rd month and straight to Christmas but time seems to be flying by so fast! 3 months and so much has happened.

First of all, I'm back to work and that means Asher has started daycare.  The first week was horrible - for me. It was filled with many tears and I hated being away from him.  Asher did fine though, he's a great baby.  A week before we started daycare a friend of mine asked me how Asher was doing with the bottle.  I thought, oh yeah, we should give him one now and then.  So that night I did. And he hated it.  So that began me being stressed because Asher was going to be at daycare for an entire day and he probably wouldn't eat.  I talked with my boss and the daycare is really close to my work, so he is letting me go feed Asher twice a day.  Best boss ever.  That made the transition a bit better.  However it didn't take long (with one snow storm) for me to realize how hard that its going to be this winter waking back and forth. But every step is worth it to me to see Asher and know he is doing ok.  Sigh.  I love my job and the people I work with.  They got me flowers.  :)  They are so sweet.  The daycare workers are great and they love Asher.  He was the only baby for a few weeks which was nice.  But figuring out Asher's schedule at daycare has been challenging.  Because he's a baby he sleeps different times than the other kids.  He's in a room with up to 18month olds.  Everyone loves him and really he mostly sleeps there.  So he's doing ok.  I'm still having a hard time, but right now it makes the most sense for me to work so that's what we are doing.  And in some ways it's a blessing.

first roll over! by accident... :)

Asher continues to grow and change!  He's laughing and ALMOST rolling over.  He loves to smile and has a few toys that he laughs at almost every day.  He loves to look at our fish as well as the Christmas tree lights.  Now that he's almost 4 months old I'm trying to figure out what to do with his schedule.  It's a bit stressful being in charge of a baby and not knowing how to change things as they grow.  I have a book that helps, but it's hard and I find myself thinking about his schedule, when he eats, sleeps, bath time, etc most of the time.  I try not to let it consume me, but I always feel like I'm missing something.

This next month will be new beginnings for things.  We plan on switching him to his crib vs. his bassinet.  He's pretty much growing out of his bassinet.  I hate to admit his feet are at the very end and he probably should've been moved out earlier, but he was sick and I couldn't stand the thought of him being in the other room when he was coughing etc.  But come to find out he wasn't actually sick, he was TEETHING! So yes, Asher is now cutting teeth.  He has one on the bottom right and the bottom left coming through now too.  Poor guy.  He's early for his teeth so I feel pretty bad for him.  Even though he's feeling the pain, he still smiles.  We will also be starting cereal this month!  I'm going to try to get some soon to see how he does with it.  Exciting new steps!

We've had a great Christmas so far! We are at Kari's house right now and will drive home tomorrow. :( We will head to Gramma Lou's on Friday for Christmas there.  It's been fun to celebrate with Asher, but of course he really doesn't know what's going on.  :)  He was pretty over stimulated this morning after all that present opening.  He enjoyed watching everyone else and playing with his new soft book and toys for teething.  Then he took a long winters nap. haha. He's been tired for most of the day.

Asher is such a joy to be with.  He is easily entertained and loves anyone who smiles at him.  Ok - enough talk and on to the pictures!

Our little Asher.  It's going to be a fun month 4!
