Asher's World: January 2014

Time is flying by now!

People used to ask me if time was flying by, and I would tell them no because I was stuck in my house with a newborn and I basically felt insane. Ha! But now, time is going faster. It seems like I just wrote my 3 month update! (ok, so I basically did cuz it was late and it was Christmas. But whose watching?) So, here's a quick update on Asher.

He is AWESOME! We've really been enjoying him lately. I know most people pick the one happy face baby pic that they have and they post it, but Asher really is happy most of the time. He is laughing and smiling and loves to jump and dance. He especially loves to play with daddy.

In December he started teething and now has two of the cutest little teeth on the bottom. He has just started teething again! I thought we would have a break, but nope, here we go again! So I'm still waiting to see which ones are coming next.

Christmas was very fun! We went to Pennsylvania for Christmas and then drove to Grand Rapids to celebrate with Drew's family. It was a lot of traveling, but Asher did great. He sleeps in the car well so traveling was pretty good. It was fun to watch Asher open gifts, (he's a baby, he didn't open anything) but it was more fun watching everyone else give him gifts. It was a joyful season and we are thankful!

We were home for the New Years week and off of work so that was nice to spend that time with Asher. Then we had 2 snow days and no work so that was great too! Asher has now moved to 9 months clothing! Let me repeat the title of this blog...4 months & growing! I keep looking at the tags to make sure that's right, but yup, he's into 9 months clothing already. So it was nice to have extra days to do laundry and change out all of Asher's clothes.

He goes for his 4 month check up on Friday so it will be interesting to see how much he weighs. 3 weeks ago he was 17 pounds so we will see!

He's been getting spa treatments of baking soda on his head before bath to help his cradle cap. I'm not sure if it's helping, but we are trying anyway. He has a pretty bad case so hoping to find the trick to get rid of it.

Asher eats cereal!!! Well, he did for a few days. He started waking up at night around 3am and so we stopped the cereal to make sure it wasn't upsetting his stomach. He is still waking up though so we will probably re-introduce it again soon. He loved eating it.

Asher still refused to take a bottle. HOWEVER - he DID decide 2 days ago OUT OF THE BLUE to drink an entire bottle in like 3 min! But the next day he refused again. So now I know he CAN do it..he's just playin us. We are suckas!
