5 months already?!?

January 6 - February 6
2014

I can't believe we are at 5 months! It's almost time for his 1/2 year birthday and time really is starting to fly by.  Just today we've decided to change Asher's eating/sleep schedule to be longer between feedings because he's not sleeping as long and he's not that hungry when we feed him.  We started cereal in December but then stopped for a bit because I thought it was waking him in the night.  But we started again a few weeks ago and he's eating like a champ! He loves his cereal and is always sad when it's gone.  Soon we will start giving it to him twice a day.  Growing..fast...

January was a busy month for us, February should be a bit slower which will be nice.  Drew has been busy busy with school but still spends lots of time with Asher. When Asher is in his jumper he will stop jumping and stare at Drew until Drew looks at him.  Then he will giggle and start jumping again. So cute.  It's always so awesome to watch them together.  They adore one another to pieces.

We went on a writing retreat for onetimeblind and brought Asher along. He did pretty good for the most part.  We were in a little house for the weekend but even being in a new space Asher slept like a trouper.  So thankful.

We had a few visitors this month.  Grandma and Grandpa came to visit Asher before they left for Florida.  We tried to hide in their suitcase, but we didn't fit.  Instead, we were left with this:

But it was a good visit as it's always fun to see them.  Drew and Dick were able to go to the Detroit Auto Show while Lou watched Asher for me so I could go to a baby shower.  Drew and I even made it out for a date that night. YES!
our first official night out! :)
Asher is very very close to rolling over which is so fun to watch.  He's so cute the way he is always trying and getting so so close, but not close enough and then he rolls back over.  He's too cute.  He's growing so much every day.  We will be moving him into 12 month clothes already. I KNOW! He fits the 9 month stuff but he's so thick that the pants are tight around his thighs and his shoulders are wide for the shirts.  So 12 month clothes...here we come!

At his 4 month check up they measured his head and found that it had grown from the 25th percentile to match the rest of his body at 95th percentile.  The dr. was surprised and wanted to make sure nothing was wrong since his head finally caught up to the rest of his body.  So we had to have an ultrasound.  Asher did great! By the time we got in it was time for him to eat, but even being hungry he sat there and talked to one tech while the other one took the x-ray. Best baby ever.

Asher has been teething and trying to put everything he can in his mouth.  We haven't seen any other teeth pop through which is frustrating for us all.  But with his rosy cheeks and cute smile he's a trooper.

monkey is my favorite

does anyone see it hurts?

Asher is super close to rolling over, but he can't get over that little chubby arm.  He keeps trying though and we keep thinking today is the day!  Once it happens we will be in another stage of life... MOVEMENT!  oh boy!

Living with Asher is busy and fun.  He's a great baby and we couldn't be more blessed.  As we change his schedule and begin feeding and help him grow and learn more about God, we are truly the blessed ones.  Even in the stressful times, we thank God for the honor of Asher.  Now on to month 6!   It is sure to be packed with lots of changes and new pics to share.
