6 months - 1/2 birthday celebration!

6 months here we are!

It really is amazing how much change happens in a child the first year of life.  I mean, they leave the comfort of the womb, they are taught to wear clothes, they feed and poop for the first time.  Then once they get a tiny bit comfy, crazy pieces of bone force their way through their gums...for months.  They eat different foods and their body starts to change and roll over.  And they spit up.  And laugh.  And cry.  And they get long finger nails.  And they splash in the bathtub so hard that it literally gets you all wet.  And the giggles...oh man...the giggles are amazing. So much change in just 6 fast months.  We couldn't be happier.

So here are the highlights.  Honestly, this month brought a lot of change even though I don't feel like we did that much.  The weather has still been too cold to go outside and so we've kinda just stuck at home most of the month.  Praying for spring.  Yesterday it was in the 40's so that's hope that SOMETHING is coming soon.  HURRY UP SPRING!!!!!!

This is how much winter asher saw.  Most days it was below zero.
ok...back to ashers world....

For valentines day we had a fun photo shoot

Covering Asher with Kisses!

The first part of the month Drew had grad school in California, so Asher and I were alone for the week.  It was hard to have Drew away.  He not only helps so much, he makes me feel protected and when he's gone it's like we are holding our breath until he gets back.  He is missed.  We would facetime with him which was great, but it confused Asher as he wanted to hug his daddy.  We were so glad when he came home.  I'm not sure who missed each other more.  Needless to say, there were many tears at the airport.

Asher has been adjusting his naps this month.  And by that I mean he doesn't want to sleep very long anymore.  It's so hard to know why.  We don't know if he's growing (which he did), teething (which he was) or just being a baby (which he is).  I guess as long as he's not screaming, we are ok with it for now.  I've resolved to accept that some days he will sleep and some days he wont.  Again, he didn't read the baby book I have.  He would rather chew on it.

playing is way more fun than sleeping

This lion is MINE! RAWR!!!
It's always so exciting when I find a new tooth.  I don't know if it's the excitement of something new, or the thought of him being a real person..I'm not sure why I find it so exciting but I do. I usually get loud and do a happy we have a new tooth dance and it makes Asher cry.  haha

Discovered something new while in the bath! #3 on the bottom and more to come!

THE ROLL OVER!!!!

We can't believe it..but it finally happened....

the roll over!

how did I get on my belly?
He did it!!! Asher rolled over! And over...and over...and over....
He was confused at first as to how he got there and then he would cry after about 10 seconds but after understanding being on the belly wasn't all bad he would stay without crying for at least a few minutes. He's discovering new things all the time now!

FIRST FOODS~ Sweet Potatoes!

he loved every bite!
Asher has also tried green beans, peas (which is when the spitting out began.  I've decided I have to wear clothes I don't care about as he is spitting green veggies at me now)

so I got green beans on my shoulder, what of it?

Ajax and Asher have been becoming friends this month.  Asher loves petting him.

We were excited to have our friend Molly watch Asher for us a few times during the week. It's such a blessing as she loves him so much and plays with him as well as teaching him about Jesus.  It's a huge blessing to know Asher is in good hands while we are away.
Molly reads Asher's bible story
So this month has been a lot of fun.  We are so excited to see what Asher will be doing in another 30 days.  He's such a joy to us and we are so thankful and so blessed. Love that little guy.

OH! One more thing...don't let your baby suck on your face.  'nuff said.
