7 months - change, change, change!

Hello 7 months.

This past month has gone by WAY too fast.  In some ways I'm happy about that - no more snow!  But in other ways it's been fun and challenging to keep up with Asher's fast changing life.  The past 2 weeks he's been doing so many new things.

This month was pretty laid back. Gramma & Grampa came for a visit and in perfect form Drew and his mom started re-arranging our apartment at 9pm.  When they get an idea, watch out!  I was starting to feel claustrophobic and needed more room.  I'm the type of person who isn't ready to take the pack n play down (that we've been using as a changing table and place to set Asher cuz he loves to watch the fish there) until WAY after he's outgrown it.  Drew is the type that when I say something about how it's probably maybe sort of time for it to come down, he will be taking it a part before I know it.  This is what happened with my living room.  But now I have a fresh, new feeling apartment and we are continually reworking things to make room for Asher and his changing needs.

Happy St.  Patricks Day!

St. Patrick Super Hero

My work schedule is going great!  I'm still working from home every day except 2 mornings where my friend Molly watches Asher.  She's so awesome and Asher's eyes light up when he sees her.  Its so great to know Asher is in good hands with arms full of love.

We got a few packages in the mail this month! So thankful for aunties that love Asher so much.  We love you!

For years I've hated tax time. I hate that we have to once again put down that we have no dependents. I know it sounds stupid, but it was always very painful for me.  Many of my friends would get back tax money and were able to splurge on something.  This year checking that box was very emotional for me.  Once again it reminded me of God's faithfulness to do exactly what He said He would do.  He is so good.

During our Thursday night dinners with the Macs, Asher made it to the big kid table! He was SO excited and kept them all rolling with laughter. It was so fun to see them enjoying one another. Thankful for these kiddos.  They adore Asher and I adore them.

Asher had a playdate with his friend Jet.  It was awesome seeing them interact together.  Asher hasn't really been around kids his own age.  Jet is a bit older than Asher, but Asher wasn't afraid to want to kiss and hug all over him.

Teething has been the top activity this past month.  Asher is currently working on his 6th tooth. Most babies haven't even had 1 yet!  He's a trouper.  He has found his voice as he screams out when the pain hits and then a few minutes later he is laughing.  He's too funny.  But on one really bad day when medicine, cold washcloths, teething tablets and ice chew toys don't seem to work, I got desperate and went and bought a teething necklace.  It's supposed to help calm the baby and give them relief.  That's when I realized that I would do anything for Asher.  Spend any amount to make him feel better and not be in pain.  Knowing something is hurting him, hurts me.  I could hardly stand it, especially cuz he's normally so happy.  It's been hard to see him so upset.  So I hold him and read him books and we just take it one hour at a time.  Oh, the teething necklace? I don't know..maybe it helped, maybe not. But at least I know I've tried everything I can try.

We celebrated Dicks 80th birthday this month!  It's super unbelievable that he's 80.  He seems like a 60 year old kinda guy.  We drove over and celebrated with him which was a blast.

Asher has been eating like crazy.  I'm going out today to try to get some food to make him baby food.
It adds up very quickly when he's eating 4 times a day plus still breast feeding.  So when I find a deal, I go for it.  His list of new foods has quickly risen.

rice cereal
oatmeal
peas
squash
carrots
prunes
spinach
avocado
rutabaga
broccoli
bananas
apples
pears
pumpkin
blueberries

And he loves every bit of it.

He has learned to sit up by himself and play for a long time.  He no longer wants to lay down and play with his "baby" toys.  :(  It's like he determined he was bigger and he stopped doing certain things.  It makes me happy and sad all at the same time.

He had a 6 month photo shoot (pics aren't ready yet cuz it was really almost 7 months) a few days ago and oh man...he's so cute.  I will post those pics when I get them.  Now that the weather is getting nicer it will be great to take some walks and be outside with Asher. I'm thankful for this new season and we are loving watching Asher grow into an amazing little boy. 8 months here we come!
