Asher's World: July 2014

Hello Summer!

It seems like Spring came and went and we are now in the thick of summer lovin! Asher has changed so much in the past few weeks it's hard to keep up with him. It seems he is growing so fast and leaving the baby world much faster than I could ever want. Here's what June brought us....

This month didn't seem as busy in Ashers world, just lots of first time things happening. We went to a few of cousin Ethans baseball games. Asher loves to watch sports and so he had a blast watching Ethan as well as playing with his other cousins.

We celebrated Fathers Day and went to church that morning. It was fun to see Drew be honored with his son. A day that I've prayed for and waited on for years. God is so good. We went out to eat and just spent the day together. It was nice.

Asher got to see several of his Aunties this month as he was a guest at my friend Amiee's shower. We couldn't find a sitter so he went with me. I'm not sure anyone minded. He might have been squeezed by every woman there. I'm pretty sure Asher was enjoying himself too.

HE CRAWLS!!!

Yes, it's true..Asher is on the move! He finally got the hang of how to put his legs and now he's crawling everywhere. We thought he might walk first as he LOVES walking while we hold his hands, but I guess he figured out he could get places faster by crawling then rolling and we went straight into baby proofing mode. We rearranged furniture, got rid of tons of things we really didn't need, put those plastic thingys on all the outlets so he doesn't shock himself, and then we sat him down to see what else we needed to do. It didn't take long to figure out what needed to be put up. I know once he's walking we will be doing it all again. It's so great to see him go through each stage. Loving him even more and more.

He's still teething, but no teeth. It's kind of a bummer to have him be in pain so much and still no tooth poking through. Not to mention the drool. I have to change his clothes cuz they get so wet! But he doesn't seem to mind.

HE SWIMS!!!

We took Asher swimming for the first time this month in our pool. He loved every minute of it. The water was a tad cold, but in true kid fashion, he didn't care about that at all. He splashed and kicked his feet and even laid back with drew for a bit to learn to float. It was great fun and I'm so blessed to have a pool to cool off in!

We went to Aunt Honey and Uncle Pete's to celebrate the 4th of July. It was a fun day as we got to go to the fair and pet some animals. Asher loved jumping on the trampoline as well as getting much attention from his cousins, aunts and uncles. He loves a good party! The Grands were here for the party too so we all enjoyed having them around. :)

We celebrated Asher's 10 month birthday by going to the park and playing in the river.

STRAW SIPPING!!!! YAY!!!

He surprised us all when Aunt Lola gave him her drink and he drank from her straw! Yup, he's a straw drinker now. It really is hard to keep up with how fast things are changing. In only 2 short months we will be celebrating 1 year! So hard to believe. Asher is coming into his own person as of late. He's very funny and likes to laugh a lot, but he also does NOT like to fall or be told "no". Imagine that! I guess that makes him normal. haha. He's going through a growthspert and is now exiting the 12 month clothes and entering 18. No matter how much I live in denial of this boy miracle in my life getting older, he seems to be growing, growing, growing! He is a joy beyond our imagination. 11 months is just around the corner!
