Asher's World: August 2014

Hello 11 months! Good bye July!

We are creeping up on our one year anniversary now and I can't even believe it. This month has me in much reflection. I've been sitting and just watching Asher and thinking about my life and I feel so blessed. So humbled. So grateful.

A few highlights from our month 11.

We had our first family vacation and headed to Chicago to meet up with my siblings.

It was SO fun to see everyone. Most of them hadn't seen Asher in a long time so he was very different. It was the Getchell's first time seeing him, so that was especially fun!

Asher did great on the car ride there and was so excited to spend so much time with family. I mean once he woke up. haha.

So, once we got there, needless to say we had a lot of firsts.

A few new friends...

The vacation was so great and we were all sad to leave one another. Time always seems to go way too fast when we are with family.

I work from home several days and this month I had Eden come help me as a mothers helper. She ROCKS! She's great with helping with Asher, but I really enjoyed some quality time with just her. And Asher adores her. But who wouldn't?

A sad day happened this last month. My uncle Dale passed away and he was very loved by so many. I believe this is because of his love and acceptance of others. People would say how he knew someone no matter where he went. I think that is partially because of his amazing ability to tell stories. It's a gift that some of my family members have. They can talk about the weather and have you rolling on the floor with laughter because of they way they talk about it. Uncle Dale was like that, and he will be missed. For obvious reasons I didn't take any pictures etc. however, Drew did get one with Asher and my Aunt Violet. A moment of happy on a day full of tears.

Last year at my baby shower, one of my best friends was telling me how she had met a guy that she had only hung out with once. His name was Chuck and he seemed nice and was very funny. I remember talking to her about it and feeling like this might be her "and suddenly" moment. Well, I'm thrilled to announce that in August Amiee and Chuck got married! Asher went to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding and we snapped a few pics of him with his aunties. I couldn't be more thrilled for Amiee and Chuck. To see a prayer answered that we've been praying for years on is amazing! BLESSED!!!!
